Balloon Girl & Beyond: A Creative Exploration

A Creative Beginning: Introducing DaaleelaB

Greetings! My name is Jey (also known as NaaveelaB), and I’m a designer who works with 3D printers and AI art. Although I live in South Korea, my creations are sold on Amazon’s U.S. marketplace. While Amazon is often associated with common, mass-market products, my offerings break from the norm—they are creative, unique, and perhaps a bit unconventional. My journey in combining art and design to create distinctive products is what this newsletter is all about.

The Birth of Balloon Girl and the Tiny Frame

The first product under my brand is a 3D-printed picture frame including my “Let Me Float” (Balloon Girl) artwork. It’s not only a showcase for my art but also a functional frame designed for 2x3-inch photos, like those from Instax Mini cameras. Balloon Girl herself emerged from my experiments with AI video tools, as I explored their limitations and possibilities. While these tools often struggle with painterly or abstract styles, they work surprisingly well with 3D-style visuals. This led me to create a three-dimensional-looking version of Balloon Girl, merging her into my artwork in a way that brought new depth and creativity to the piece.

When deciding on a product to launch, I initially hesitated to sell creative works on Amazon, assuming that generic, high-demand items sourced from manufacturers would be the safer choice. However, after running into issues with sourced product samples and receiving support from a Korean export program, I turned to my own artistic creations. This tiny frame was the perfect solution—something I could quickly design, 3D-print, and refine in my studio.
